GT Dist. / sr1911

Post by gemini »

I ordered this in May. Finally came in Wednesday. Its fit & finish is nice.
No tooling marks inside the slide etc. Very good for the price-point.
Probably shoot it between Christmas and New Years at a family day at
the range. I sure hope it shoots as good as it looks. One more 1911 for
the stable.

Yes congratulations! I can't wait to get mine. Look forward to hearing how wonderful it is. As you might know you can't beat GT pricing.

Wow - 7 months' waiting period.

Does anyone know what Ruger's backorder time is NOW for an SR1911?

They must be selling like hotcakes.

When it didn't come as expected in August, I had just kind of forgotten about it.
But patience is a virtue, so thanks. My understanding is that 3 were shipped, and all
3 were spoken for months ago. They were not sure when another shipment would
arrive or how many.
Yes, GT's pricing was the best I've seen so far. I'm a happy camper.

Edited to : WISH EVERYONE A MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!

There was a recent quote by Ruger that they are producing them as fast as they can but they have been completely swamped by orders

I wonder if demand will slow down in 2012 when' it's not the 100 year anniversary any more.

The marketing guys will come up with some lying promotion such as "Get your 1912 pistol here - it's the 100th anniversary!"
