Sig P226 West German value?

#1

Post by longhorn_92 »

I have a chance to get a Sig P226 West German (in a trade)...

It is a police trade-in and has very little external finish wear. It has new (re-lamped 2011) trijicon night sights. The springs have been replaced with those included in a Sig "spare parts kit" to include new grip screws.

Again, it is West German gun with folded steel slides and triple serial numbers (all matching). The 226 is KD date coded. The barrel wear (smileys) are more pronounced on P226. What year was this made?

I don't know what the worth would be for this one in particular. What value range would you be thinking of for the P226?

I wanted to consult the respected opinions of this forum before I decide to get it or not. Any opinion is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

KD would make the gun a 93 production. If its in good condition with minimal wear, I would say maybe $550. Some sig enthusiasts would probably be willing to pay more for the triple serial numbers, but for that date range I don't know that it'd be that much more.
