I think more non-shooters need better ways to be introduced to the sport, so I hauled off and got my NRA Certification to teach "Basic Pistol".

money has been put with mouth :txflag:

Congrats! I'd love to get certified as an instructor some day.

Congrats! I've been looking for that course myself...just haven't been able to find it at a time I could take it. Heck, at this point, I'd really like to do the BIT program, so that I can pick up individual disciplines easier...

Good job! Teach well, and prosper!

Thanks!

The BIT class is a prerequisite to the pistol class, so I took both on two consecutive days.

Matthew does a great job.

So, what is the process to become an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor?

From the NRA site you can locate a "Counselor" who is certified to train that course.

Take the prerequisite, "Basic Instructor Training: BIT" course first, then the Basic Pistol course.

That's about it.
