I recently saw one of these and was curious if anybody has any experience with them. The website is http://www.siderlock.com. Lone Wolf is selling them for about $50. I was thinking about trying one. Thanks.

This really looks like a disaster waiting to happen to me. Do they really expect you'll be able to find that button under stress? And perhaps more likely, what happens when that little switch wiggles out just enough to hang up the gun when you really need it? I think "gadgets" like this are a case of the cure being far worse than the disease.

I would not put that on my gun if Lonewolf paid me $50.

Interesting design concept, I can see what drove them to create this device...

But like you said, I don't think even "LT" would let me spend $50 on one of these things...

My best safety device sits between my ears, and controls what and when my finger does anything...

Bottom line is I don't understand what the fascination is with producing all of these aftermarket "safety" devices for Glocks is all about...If its all about $$$ then I'll understand, but I just don't see anything else you can do to make an inheirently dangerous device any safer than it is already...

And its just not all about Glocks...

Well, at least it's innovative and well designed. The problem is, it's flawed in concept, because it doesn't address the cause of every single Glock ND in history: failure to keep the booger hook off the bang switch.

Worse, it even adds to that problem, by encouraging the shooter to put his finger on the trigger and press before being ready to shoot.

I've always had the same heebie-jeebies about the Garand safety (and others like it): "You want me to switch the safety off by reaching inside the trigger guard??"

Now I have heard it all...

I am not a fan of the idea but I can think of one instance that this would be benificial for me. That is, any time that I have to remove the gun from the holster and put it down (loaded) on a table or nightstand (aka while I'm asleep).

Currently, if I happen to be carrying a Glock, I'll put it in a holster that I keep in the nightstand while I am sleeping. This prevents me from accidentally getting my finger in the trigger gaurd when I make a homerun swing at the snooze button with my eyes closed at 5am.
But... I have plenty of old holsters laying around so I'm not dropping $50 to modify my gun.

Since I posted this I found a thread about it on the Glock Talk Forum. The response there was also pretty negative from people who did not have one and positive from the few people that did have one. Thanks for your input.

No experience with this gadget. It looks like trouble on so many levels.

I would not put one on my Glock and I agree that it is a flawed concept to force you to reach into the trigger guard to disengage it prior to pulling the trigger. It is also quite unnecessary in my opinion.
