I never got the 1911 thing until my sons bought me an Iver Johnson 1911A1 for Fathers Day. They were going to buy me a Kimber, but I wouldn't accept it as their budgets weren't that high end. After shooting it with hardball, reloading SWC, lovingly studying and reworking the feed ramp and throat, and buying a Wilson mag, now I get it. It eats anything, is pretty accurate, and has been named Sgt York.

Is there a cure????

Nice gift. No cure. It only gets worse from here. Oh and more expensive.

I know of no cures but it can be controled with time and medication, err I mean training. Just remember that a 1911 infection can be fatal if you also have a medical condition known as "The Better Half" or "Significant Other".

I do have that medical condition, but might it be mitigated by a P238 or a Commander size 9 mm? She's a CHL also.

No known cure, continue treatments with regular infusions of 1911s (generic substitutes are acceptable) and range trips.

This medical condition cannot be controlled!!! Best hope is to minimize the side effects...

I think I understand now. If I infuse a P238 or 9 mm version for the Better Half, I might just be spreading the infection.

No cure, gets worse (or better what side of the disease you're on) with time. I love this infection! Happy to be sick!

This girl I have been dating has been eyeballing my P238. her words... "it's so cute, like a tiny one of that other gun you have". I have 3 1911's and am about to build one in 9mm. I seldom carry a 1911 though.

A .22LR conversion, top end, will ease the ammo budget and allow you to shoot it more... but in reality, that's only masking the symptoms!

I recently tried the 1911 Koolaid, and I must say, it is gooooooooooooooood!!! I purchased my first 1911 last month. (A Kimber Custom CDP II). I absolutely love it. Now I know what all the fuss has been about.

There is 1 cure and only 1 cure. You buy one once a week and then send it to me.

I agree with the others, no cure. I bought my first one last November. I am now up to 3. Nothing else seems to measure up.
