Thats what I USED to think. I've been carrying my XD9sc for about a year now and I think I'd like something bigger and without a grip safety. I'm leaning towards the Glock 19 over the M&P but still need to shoot it since I haven't shot one in quite awhile.

You guys who carry them, how do they work out for you? I'd probably carry IWB nearly all the time. Any issues with weight or concealment of G19s? Any dislikes?

I carry a G17 alllllll the time, IWB or OWB, no problem.

I carry a G19 with a iwb holster and I haven't had any problems. Tucks well, and I can still wear same size shirts as I normally wear.

Carry one everyday! Without a doubt the gun I will carry the rest of my life .

I know plenty of people that carry G19s and love them. Most I know carry IWB without issue.

I do own a 19 I got in 1980s

too long a fat slide for me, so

I carry a 26 with an extended barrel (barrel length of a 19 without a fat slide as long
and I carry Glock 19 mags with +3 extensions for 18 rounds in the mag in Summer ( in Winder I carry the Glock 17 mags with +3 PG-39 Pearce Grip Extensions for 20 round mags) I use the rubber X-grip type mag spacers

The only difference is I lose a rail mount to get a better fit for concealing without clunking on a metal chair/wood pew, for my body type ... and I can always carry with a 15 or 13 or 10 round mag when I want even deeper concealment like when I wear a Speedo ... 26 gives options: 19 is ok.

I have on occasion carried my wife's G19, although I always shower right afterward.

OK...this is just me: I REALLY dislike the grip angle of Glock pistols, and I don't like the size—at least with respect to Gen 3—of Glock grips. But that said, the G19 carries very well. I always carried it OWB in a Desantis Speed Scabbard. It isn't too heavy, the size is right, etc. But I just much prefer a pistol with a grip angle similar to a 1911. Ergo, my polymer guns are a Kahr CW45, a M&P45, and an XD(m)45 Compact 3.8 in .45 ACP, and a Kahr PM9 in 9mm.

I carry a G19 in a Crossbreed Supertuck. Very comfy and easy to conceal at the 3:30 position. I wear jeans almost exclusively and I do not like to tuck when using the G19. Makes a large bulg which I think is obvious since I am very slim. When I have to tuck in jeans, I IWB a Kahr CM9 which is thinner.

The only holster I currently own for my Glock 19 is a leather OWB holster from Tagua.

Its comfortable and easy to conceal, even in cargo shorts and t shirts (my usual mode of dress). I carry it at 2 o clock position, not quite appendix and not directly on my side.

I am thinking about picking up a "minimalist" holster as well from Zero Concealment systems to try out since that would let me tuck in a shirt.

Reason I'm picking the ZCS over the Raven (the minimalist holster most people use/think of) is because they also offer one for my Sig Sauer SP2022. 40 bucks plus 7 shipping for 2 holsters isn't bad at all, especially since that Sig is a pain to find holsters for.


In short, I think a Glock 19 is easy to conceal and light to carry. I love mine.

That Zero Concealment one has a warning that says you shouldn't holster it while the gun is loaded? I'll pass on that. The Tagua looks good. I've been carrying my LC9 OWB and really like it, except for the safety that digs into my side on that one.

Saw that too but I think its just lawyer speak.

I think what they're trying to say is you shouldn't try to reholster with it is attached to your belt still, which makes sense to me since its designed for appendix carry (though it can be adjusted and carried other places too, I'll probably carry it at 2 just like I do OWB). I have zero interest in shoving a loaded gun down the front of my pants with no holster.

Any time you put a loaded gun into a holster (especially a Glock) you should be careful. Just don't try to reholster in a minimalist holster while its in your pants and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't carry there either, but its the best video I could find that showed pulling the holster back out to reholster it before putting it in your pants.
