Weird Drive into Work Today

Imagine this. You are driving to work just like any other day. You look over at the car next to you and guy is wearing a black leather biker jacket(Temps is low 60's. Heavy jacket not really needed. IMO) and a full face Gas mask. :???: What would you do?

Well I didn't have to imagine this. I saw this first hand this mornin. I called 911 and reported it. I gave make, model, plate # and full description of what I saw including the fact that he had something that looked like speaker boxes covered with carpet and all in the back window. But they had holes in all sides of them. I though it was out of place so I felt it was the right thing to do. If he's not doing anything wrong then he's got nothing to worry about however the local firefighters are doing the fill the boot campaign and he tried to place his hands where the firefighters couldn't see that he was wearing a gas mask. Would this be paranoia or just good observation?

And if any of yall are wondering this was in the East Dallas/Whiterock Lake area.

I'd say it was a good call. Thank you for making that call.

People do weird things and you don't know why he was wearing it - as long as he wasn't harming anything, I wouldn't have called. I think you overreacted, but FWIW I understand why you called.

I'm sorry, but the visual I am getting is just too much to bear right at the moment...

My Grandmother lives right over from White Rock Lake, in the Casa Linda area...

White Rock Lake is notorious for having a few "strange" things going on around there for as long as I can remember...

My knee-jerk reaction would be that this guy had maybe had a little TOO much at a local Taco Cabana, if you catch my drift...

Either that or he's seen to many reruns of the Matrix or Mad Max films...

We need to start posting pics of these funny things we see in our daily travels...If I can only figure out how to download the pics consistantly off my camera phone...

This thread made my day!

I grew up in this area to. I have seen(and done) many strange things. This was funny looking but there was just something that was wierd. you know that 6th sence that lays dorment till called upon kind of thing. I followed(Not relly followed just going to same way.) him for about 3 miles before I actually made the call. Normally I wouldnt have even made the call but it wasn't so much the Gas mask as the weird looking boxes that were in the back window. In fact he pulled into the Casa Linda shopping center.

If anything you made a good observance...Not a thing wrong with that!!! ;-)

You know, I could be wrong, but isn't there a TC there in the Casa Linda shopping area??? I know there's a Starbucks...The movie theater is one of those really old, but renovated facilities..."Wife Unit" and I have gone there a few times when we visited...

Too funny that he pulled in there...

Maybe he was conscious of the pollen count?

:smilelol5:

Good call. He may not mean any harm to anybody, but driving that way isn't really safe (I have done this, in the military of course) on public streets. Not to mention thier might be some underlying problems that need documentation.

It all sepends on where I observed this. If I saw this guy in the Houston or Austin area I would accept it as normal for the place. Most other places and I might be very concerned.

Where's that Taco Cabana?

Seriously, if I saw someone like this driving around, I'd call 911 also. I can't think of a normal reason to be wearing a gas mask on the drive to work.
