And need help defending your property on Sunday?

I won't go to the CHL rally and risk that. But....I'd sit in someone's yard and hang out with a slung AR and some company.

I wanna go too! I've got steaks and some deer sausage in the freezer that I don't mind sharing... and some Diet DP for drink/dessert.

I am surprisingly good at grilling with a rifle on my shoulder.

All we need is a forum member to host.

So wait....The little tiny town of River Oaks is hosting some kind of CHL rally? Somebody got info on this? I live just up the road and don't want to get tangled in this mess....

Houston community activist Quanell X plans to lead a march this weekend in the River Oaks community to protest a Florida jury's acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

The marchers won't be alone, though.

A newly organized group, G. Zimmerman River Oaks Stand Your Ground, plans to hold a counter demonstration Sunday in the tranquil, tree-lined community dotted with stately mansions, boutiques, restaurants and art galleries.

River Oaks in Houston is the most expensive area in town. The houses are all multi million dollar structures. I can assure you that many on duty and every off duty LEO available will be there to protect the residents property. Money is no problem to most living there.

Just to clarify as it took my wife pointing this out to me. This is NOT in River Oaks Texas. This is in Houston in the river oaks community. There is actually a city just on the edge of Fort Worth that is named River Oaks.

Correct.

In the fourth largest city in the US (hovering on the third largest), the River Oaks community is the most exclusive residential area. With multimillion dollar properties and the River Oaks Country Club and the home of the tennis U.S. Men's Clay Court Championships.

"Community Activist" (how the heck does someone make the money he does with that job description?) Qunanell X decided he would hold a pro-Travon/anti-Zimmerman rally this Sunday in River Oaks because it was "our Sanford, Florida."

Not hardly. If you evaluated relative property values, Sanford is more like Friendswood or Copperfield.

But facts don't seem to make any difference to these folks, do they?

Or "Quanell Roman Numberal 10," or convicted felon, or hate-mongering racist, or [former COP descriptive term deleted] . . . OOPS can't say that here.

That's what I was thinking. Those Houston Police Dept. officers who aren't on duty will be working extra jobs in River Oaks. Quanell may spend less time there than he did in Pasadena when he proudly boasted they'd be in Joe Horn's neighborhood many times. After discussing the issue with Joe's neighbors, unlike MacArthur, he never returned.

Chas,

What felony was he convicted of?

I tried searching for it in the past when someone questioned me on it, but he's done a good job keeping it hidden online. His wiki page makes him out to be as much of an angel as Trayvon.

I think it was a drug charge and it was under his real/former name. It was on the TV news in Houston several months back when a group of black ministers were calling him out about taking money from people to "help" then doing nothing other than depositing their checks.

Wonder how he'd feel if we did something like that in his neighborhood?

Where does he live anyway?
