Two Boxes per Caliber @ Academy in Webster

I was at Academy this morning picking up some shotgun shells and I noticed that they changed their policy on ammo purchase. You can now purchase two boxes of popular ammo (22 LR, 9mm, 45 ACP, ect.).

yes, but the boxes need to be under 100 rounds each, as if it is bulk (defined as 100+ rounds), then still 1 box per caliber

The last few times I was in Academy, they didn't have two boxes of anything I wanted. It's nice to hear things are getting better in some places.

6 box total limit also and atleast at the Academy near Hobby Airport the 380 has been placed back at the gun area with no limit.

Just for reference I was in the Academy in Springfield, MO this morning about 10:30 (they opened at 9). They had everything you could want, .22, 9, .40, .45, and .223. No line no waiting. Same limits with the caveat of "bulk" boxes. Seems the last few times I've been in they've usually got a pretty good supply on hand. You can tell once its been a few days between shipments though as some of the cheaper stuff may be out.

Academy in Midland has the same policy. They do seem to be almost fully stocked again though. I think that .308 did have a 2 box limit also.

its that way at the tyler store as well and the selection is HORRIBLE
50 round boxes for 22lr and 25 or 50 for center fires

they never have more than one of 380 or 9mm and I have yet to see 45 acp

really dumb policy

well the one on west side of Houston has 45acp but they wanted 50 bucks for a 100 box of Winchester white box.no wonder they had about 20 boxes on the counter.

The academy at Crenshaw and BW8 has had tons of 40 and 45 the past few times I was in there. They even had a UMC 250 pack in 40 a couple of nights ago around 8PM. However, they never have 9.

For rifle rounds, I'm not sure what they are doing. The shelves are full, but it almost seems like whoever is stocking the ammo just puts the boxes in whatever space is open at the time. The last time I bought some, 308 was spread out all over the shelves and so was 243.
Thanks,
Rich
