Anyone use Freedom munitions?
I need to restock on inexpensive plinking ammo. Anyone use Freedom Munitions .40, or .45ACP? Any thoughts or comments on the brand? What is your favorite cheap plinking ammo?

Used their 9, about 200 rounds. Not one issue. Will be ordering more.

Re: Anyone use Freedom munitions?
I've used their 9mm as well. More than 1000 rounds. No issues.
I've ordered from them on line and also visited their store off of 290 in Houston (they often have things in stock at the store that are shown as out of stock on their website).
My buddy has used their 5.56 as well (not sure of round count) and reports no issues.
Sorry I can't help you in the calibers you asked about.

Re: Anyone use Freedom munitions?
I have used a LOT of it as range ammo for my rent guns.
No issues here. I do know of one owner of an EMP that will not run smooth w/ Freedom. Many of them are finikie w/ other ammo too though.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

.45 i've had one bad casing in over 1k rounds...... i'll take that any day of the week. the one thing i'll say about them though is everytime i've been in and had to "deal" with the younger guys you basically have to help yourself and then yell at them when you're standing in front of the register and they're sitting right in front of you reading a magazine knowing dang good and well you walked up maybe it's because i wasn't buying 10k rounds at a time???? who knows but they have the best prices and good reloads so for targets they'll do fine.

I have used their .45, .223, and .308. I haven't had a single problem out of any of it.

They're terrible. They are in no way a secret oasis of decent ammo in a desert of empty shelves and profiteers, made in the US, at a fair price. In no way would I recommend them to anyone. They are in no way an online service with ammo that ususally arrives in two weeks. Everyone I see say they jam up every round and should in no be used for plinking or occasonal competition. I would never note the little shout of happiness I get when a new box of 1,000 comes in.
In short they're horrible. Don't buy any. More for me!

Re: Anyone use Freedom munitions?
I recently ordered 500 rds of reman 9mm from them because they had the best per-round price, including shipping and military discount. Had not heard of them before, found them via http://gunbot.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Altho the website said that particular ammo was out of stock at the time, they apparently made more pretty quick because they shipped within a couple days.
So far I have fired 50 rounds through a brand-new Glock 19 and all went well.
One glitch in the order -- their website says the mil discount will be applied when the ammo is shipped and the credit card is charged. When I got my CC statement, they had not applied the discount. I emailed them about it, and they pretty quickly emailed me back with an apology and said that they had put the discount on my card. I haven't actually checked my statement yet, but for the moment assume that is true.
So over all good price, seems to be good practice ammo, and while they bobbled, they made it good.

Re: Anyone use Freedom munitions?
I've used their 380, 40 and 45 without any issues....1500 rounds or so. Good plinking ammo and decent prices. I'll try to grab some of the blaster reman stuff when it's available. Down side to them is they're in-state, so you'll pay sales tax on top of shipping, but the shipping is a little lower than ordering from someone like LAX ammo or something further away. Ordered 1000 rounds from them last week, so I'll see how their 38 special and 357 mag is.

IIRC, when you order through their website (they don't take phone orders), it will give you the shipping charge before you finalize the order.Beiruty wrote:How much is the shipping for like 1k 9mm.

Re: Anyone use Freedom munitions?
I computed the cost of 1K rd of 9mm, $308 (tax and delivery included) or $0.308 per rd.

We use their 9mm. We buy stuff online 1,000 rounds at a time. No problems, will be buying more. Actually, we already bought more.
