I have one and love it as its pretty much how I have been having custom 1911's built. I like beavertails and Novaks but not front serrations and until the CCG colt did not offer those. You can get it now with the Clapp Gov model also for a few more bucks than the CCG. The only thing I do not like on mine is the slim grips.

Same preferences here.

I'd idly been eying the Clapp version over the years but never saw one in the flesh. Like you, I'm unsure about the slim grips (although they do slim down the feel far more than I would have otherwise expected) - I'll shoot it a few times and see.
should be able to change out the grip bushings and go fullsize grips, me i'd prefer the slim grip panels especially for carry but i've got smaller hands

I'm a BIG fan of the Cylinder & Slide Short Solid smooth Trigger

They also have it in Medium and Long.

Congrats AndyC on your new 1911, now set it up for your pleasure and enjoy it. I like Pearce finger groove inserts on mine as they insure the same grip every time. http://www.pearcegrip.com/Products/Colt/PG1911-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
