Being new to this group, I hope I posted this in the right area. When I first received my CHL I puchased a Beretta 6.35 cal pistol. Not knowing a whole lot about gun prices I thought it this was a good deal ($100). It is way small enought to slip into my back pocket without a give away outline. Anyway, it is stamped GARONDE VT. with a Mfg date of 1955 on the slide. I have had several people offer me 4 times whay I payed for it. I really like it except the way the saftey runs along the lenght of the grip. Once you grip it, the saftey is off. Does anyone know much about this weapon?

Perhaps it is a 6.35 mm, model 418 wich is a .25 ACP.
The interweb has lots of info about it.
It does seem to have good value. I would de-commission it from daily carry and get AT LEAST a 9mm for daily wear.

Sounds like a model 21 series. the .25acp Bobcat. If so They are still in production and can be had for less then $300.00.
I have no idea if there is a collector value for the older pistols. Might try the beretta forum.

Sounds like a Beretta 418. serial numbers 647356-658016 made from 1945-1947 and chambered in 6.35mm Browning. Originally being introduced in 1938, the pistol featured a 8 round mag with 6 groove rifling in its barrel. Blued steel with anodized frame. Variations of this pistol include these models:
418
419
420
421
The Bobcat didn't start production until 1994.
Looks something like the one in this post?

You might be thinking another model. There were quite a few smaller .22 cal pistols which look alike.
The Minx was introduced in 1978 in .22
The Jetfire was introduced in 1978 in .25acp
The 950 Jetfire was intriduced in 1994 in .25acp
The Model 20 was introduced in 1968-1969 (950b)
Nodel 21 introduced in 1985 (revised model 20) in .22
Model 21A introduced in 1984 in .22 and .25acp (replacement for model 20, 21)
...........which brings us to the Model 21 Bobcat of which there were three versions: original, nickel and EL version. Wilkipedia is incorrect. That is, unless the Book of Beretta was misprinted
