I'm acquiring a Sig P2022 and going to use it as my nightstand gun.. Besides some range time it's pretty much going to sit in a drawer most of the time.... Looking for a decent tac light to mount on it, but don't want to spend more than say $50.00 on it... I'll check it weekly for functionality, but just can't see justifying a high end and high cost light for it... I'm a lefty, so would like something with Ambi controls.

I'm temped to just run over to Amazon and pick something up with good reviews.....

You can also go on Amazon and grab an Nc Star light for under $50. Not the best light by any means, but will get the job done for a night stand gun. Have one on my P250 and it hasn't failed me yet.

A light you’re putting your life on, but won’t spend more than $50? You don’t need a $300 surefire with IR but you could spend $100 on a tlr1 and have a light that you won’t have to worry about. You bought a nice gun, put a good light on it.

If you are putting your life on a light in the first place, you are under prepared and under trained. A light should only be used to help brighten up the room, not be a life saving tool.

If you want new, get a TLR-3 if you're trying to keep costs down. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Roy, I have a TLR-1 mounted to an M&P full size and it came with several different keys to fit different rail systems. Glock, Standard 1913 rail and a couple of others I believe. My pistol needed the 1913 mount but it did work with the Glock mount also.

I appreciate all of the suggestions, I'll take a look at them for sure...

A power outage during a hurricane, looters are breaking into your house. A light could easily save your life. Don’t be so naive, there are plenty of instances when a light could save your life, if not others. In a dark room how will you be able to positively identify targets?

Update... I decided on the PL-MINI 2 Valkrie. Seems to be a good compromise between the price point I was trying to stay at and a good tactical light... I like the fact that I can keep it charged with the magnetic charging cable... yet simply pulls away if needed quickly.... Also the 600 luminous output doesn't hurt either...

I have the TLR-3 on my P2000SK in the nightstand. Like it a lot.
I've been tempted to pick up the TLR-1 trade in and swap it onto the HK, and start carrying the smaller TLR-3, but, then I'd need a new holster... and.. I'm not really out at night very often... although winter days are coming...

Where's the indecision icon?

Both are good choices. For CC, I'd spend the extra $$ and get a new -3. For keeping at home, the -1 is a good choice too.

I have one of their 2 x AA handhelds that I like very much. My only light without a tail clicky. Sometimes I fumble trying to find the switch in the dark Still a very high quality feel and fit to it.

I have a couple of the Safariland Rogers Rail Lite ($40) and really like them. Easy on and off a handgun with a rail, or any gun with a rail, and not so bright in the middle of the night that it blinds you. Best of luck!
