Rude awakening
Story background.
My wife had just been bought a brand spanking new Springfield XD-9 and because it was new and 'tight' she was having some issues racking the slide.
Fast forward to a couple of Sundays ago.
We had been to church and eaten lunch and were back home in front of the idiot box. The Sunday afternoon slowly wore on and I was in my recliner checking the inside of my eyelids for any leaks when "Click Clack"! Boy that sound wakes you up in a hurry!
My wife decided to practise racking her gun.
I think my heart has calmed down now! I have told her to never do that again without warning me.
Alarm companies should do away with that aweful siren that nobody ever listens to or even hears and simply crank up the surround sound and play a "Click clack" sound through it! I'll tell you that sounds grabs your attention, especially if you are napping!
I guess the moral of the story is to warn people when you are going to practice racking a firearm! It could kill them.....or you!

Re: Rude awakening
Oh yes. The gun has still only had only 170 rounds through it but it is getting looser and easier for her to rack. She mostly carries the Glock 19 locked and cocked for now but I have a feeling the Springfield is going to take over purse duty as soon as she feels she can rack it as easily as the Glock.joe817 wrote: What a rude awakening! Re: Rude awakening
Maybe you could improve your napping by getting her a nice revolver. Very retro! :-)

Re: Rude awakening
Now, that is funny. You needed that on video. Then, with the money you won with it, you could buy her an AR15 and enjoy a variety of alarm sounds

A shotgun being racked into battery would be even more effective.Kevinf2349 wrote:Alarm companies should do away with that aweful siren that nobody ever listens to or even hears and simply crank up the surround sound and play a "Click clack" sound through it! Re: Rude awakening
Speaking of that sound...there was an incident at the neighbors house the other night when I came home. And a sheriff, in the dark, racked a shell in the chamber of his shotgun right behind my truck as I was heading inside. It was dark, and there was a suspicious vehicle that had jsut parked near the house. Long story short, I ran inside for a shootout , and the officer later apologized! I'm sure they got some laughs watching my wife and I duck and run.
