I think that a good dog is the best suggestion for anyone who has limited or no shooting experience. Even if you are an experienced shooter, a dog can give you some advanced notice that there is trouble coming. Many apartments don't allow pets though, and in this case, I would get her a shotgun. Even if she puts that first shot over their heads, I whoever kicked the door in will get out of there quicker than he got in!

The advice that's been given is great, and I really can't add anything else to it...good luck, and stay armed. Having her get her CHL is a great idea..I'm trying to convince mine to do it...it's a tough road to hoe, but they'll give in if you make them aware of all of the garbage that lives among us.

Yes, isnt it amazing though, the revelation people get when they realize that they really arent perfectly safe in their little bubbles :)
