Dad convinced to carry

I just got back from fishing in Rockport with my cousin the other day and we pull up to my dad's place at midnight. And standing in front him is some guy with a revolver pointed at my dad. I have been carrying under the MPA for the past couple of weeks while my license has been in the mail. Well I hop out of the vehicle pulling my pistol up and come right behind the guy who drops to his knees and tosses his weapon to my cousin who was about to beat the crap out of this guy if it wasn't for my dad who got him first. I called the cops as my cousin was yanking my dad off the guy and after about 10 minutes of waiting they finally show and take the social reject away. All the questioning my dad and family have ever given me about carrying is completely gone now and both my dad and cousin are starting their classes this weekend.

Sorry if this has anything that is considered profanity to anyone. I'm still new to this forum so please forgive me for any inappropriate language I may use.

thats scary to think that if you hadnt gotten there, something much worse could have happened to him. Glad to see no one got hurt (edited: read the rules about abreviated profanity. LT) & he is in custody. Also that your dad and cousin are taking the next step in protection. :thumbs2:

Wow bluefalcon7829, I'm glad nobody was hurt..cept the bad guy that is.

It's unfortunate that it takes an encounter like this before some people finally come to the realization
that they to be better prepared to defend themselves. I see it time and time again.

Chalk one up for the good guys and one really good son. I am glad you were able to help your dad.

BTW... This is a good time to show him that Kimber 1911 you have been looking at. Hint Hint

Thank you for sharing your story!

Sounds like this was just a split second away from ending in a tragedy…..glad it turned out for the best!

Like USA1 said, it's sad that it takes an event like this to change a persons mind about concealed carrying. So many tragic events could be thwarted if we were all equipped to protect ourselves.

WOW. Thank God you got there when you did. The BG sure is lucky that you showed such restraint.
