This thread stirred some cobwebs. I though I remembered some jacketed bullets with a copper spindle plug at the tip. (Shaped like two cones attached base to base) I was a little off. Apparently they are either Brass or Bronze. Looks they were only made for rifles. I guess there's not enough velocity from most hand gun rounds for them to work as designed. Also the link indicates they were from the 1920s.

TIP:
Finding Chewed gum under restaurant tables the right consistency to fill hollowpoints is too time consuming and re-chewing the tough bits to soften them again is just no fun after the flavor is gone. So, I'd not use that technique.
About the pink or green Hornady Critical Defense/Zombie thingies:
They remind me of the rubber erasers in school, I preferred green over pink because they didn't dry out or stayed softer or didn't tear the paper or something. But with ammo, I'd rather a jury heard "critical DEFENSE than "ZOMBIE KILLER" was loaded in my gun if a grand jury or petit jury was making decisions about my future.
If using self loaded/reloads ... I think I'd name the ammo ... LifeSavers it sounds good to a jury, and they put a hole in the middle to save lives.... I might get sued by a candy company later but ...
