I actually find titegroup a little dirty. There are many powders that work will in 45ACP:

HS-6, N-340, WW231, Green Dot

Are you talking about loading lead or jacketed bullets?

Plan on using jacketed bullets if i can find them specially in 185 grain. I thought Tight Group was supposed to be the "new" clean powder basically a new inproved version of hp-38 or 231 ???

I use 6.1 grains of Unique behind 230 grain lead bullets. It does not seem all that dirty to me. However, I clean all my weapons after range time no matter what I shoot. Good luck to you.

I'm currently using Bullseye to reload .40s&w, with great results. I've found it to be quite clean. It's also a popular choice for .45acp although I haven't loaded any yet, until my current factory stash starts to run low.

Unique is probably the best all around pistol powder made. There are recipes for everything from light target loads to near maximum magnum loads. If I could have only one powder it would be Unique.

For loading data go to the manufacturer's website they all have a load data section.

I like W231 for plinkers and target shooting. I use Power Pistol for a +P load.

I have use both Unique and Bullseye powders. Bullseye is much finer and delivers more accurrate charges and burns cleaner. From my experience, Unique prduces too much smoke in my face and leaves more residue. I only buy Unique powder when my store is out of Bulseye. It works, but not my first choice.

My new favorite powder for .45 is WST. Clean burning, no flash and economical. Works great.

HP-38 is a good powder. It is essentially the same as WW231, but has less smoke and slightly lower loading density. I have used it successfully in 9, 40, 45 and 38.

HP38 & Win 231 are exactly the same powder per the distributer Hodgdon. Load data would be interchangeable. I found that light loads of the powder didn't seem to burn as cleanly as medium to full charges.
