New press! need primers locally
I just got my Lee press and all the parts to get into reloading.... Except for primers and powder. Anyone know a good source for primers and powder in north texas? I would like to get them local so I dont have to pay hazmat fees
Ill be reloading 40s and maybe 9mm soon.

You need to let us know where you are so "local" will make sense.

I was in Gunmasters on 75 this past weekend and they had a small selection of small pistol primers. I think it was something like $4.75 for a box of 100, but don't quote me on that.

If you can't find any in your area, I would be glad to share until you can get some in.
I have Wolf and Magtech on the shelf in small pistol primers.
I'll need to look up what I paid for them.

I live in Houston and can get CCI small pistol 500 (1,000) for $38 + tax and 550 CCI (1,000) for $40 + tax. I'm driving up to Plano on March 3rd, let me know and I'll bring them to you.

I hope you meant May 3rd, because March 3rd is still a good 10 months off!Skooter wrote:I live in Houston and can get CCI small pistol 500 (1,000) for $38 + tax and 550 CCI (1,000) for $40 + tax. I'm driving up to Plano on March 3rd, let me know and I'll bring them to you.

The Bullet Trap has primers and powder. I don't remember their address, but they have a web-site. I think they are in Plano. Cabela's also has primers and powder.

Southwest reloading in Mesquite is good place. Since they specialize in reloading supplies they keep a good stock and the prices are very competitive
Re: New press! need primers locally
Widener's has Wolf primers in stock for $18.50 per K. Doesn't take very many to offset hazmat charges, especially if you split an order with someone. Even an order of 1,000 at that price, INCLUDING hazmat charges, is cheaper than paying $4.75 per 100!!

Are wolf primers any good? Ihave had nothing but bad luck with their ammo in the past.
