Works for me. I use IE6 at work and Firefox at home. Neither one has a problem with auto logon.

If you clear your cache and delete internet files form time to time that would be one issue you may be experiencing.

For me it took about a week for it to work.

I remember reading about a known glitch on phpBB systems that dealt with auto-logins. I think it had something to do with OS Service Pack and browsers. not sure.

doesn't help, but might explain the problem.

most likely PEBCAK or at least client side.

Make sure your time and date is set right. If it's not, set it correctly, clear cookies, and try again.

Clearing cookies might be a good bet either way, though.

It doesn't work for me either. In fact I can't log in at all. I belong to eight other forums, and this one is the only one where I have a problem.

The only way I can get into the forum is go the the original e-mail Charles sent me to activate the account. I click on that link, and I get a message saying "Account is already activated", but it logs me into the forum.

I've tried everything from clearing history, temp files, cookies, time and date, etc. Nothing so far has fixed it.

If you have you internet browser settings set to clear the temporary internet files and history and cookies when you close the browser then thats why you would not be able to stay logged in when you leave and come back. Thats just one idea to look at.

Which page do you have bookmarked? The pre-log-in page, or the post-log-in page?

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

AhHA!!! That seems to have fixed it! I deleted the bookmark, temp files, and cookies. Came back to the forum by using the account activitation link. Then bookmarked the site after I was logged in. Now it's working.

Many thanks, quidni...I owe you one.

I am also continuing to have log in issues. My browser is not set to deltet cookies and my bookmark was added after login was accomplished. Now here's the strange part, If I open a notification email sent by the forum, I am automatically logged in. I have no issues with any of the other forums I browse. Any suggestions on how to correct this aggrevating issue are welcomed. Thanks in advance. :cryin
