I need to pick someone's brain about web-casting, Internet radio, video cameras, etc. If anyone has time, I'd like to visit by phone.

Thanks,
Chas.

Good luck with that. I haven't ever gone down that path.

Are you wanting it to be live or recorded? Streaming or just files to be played?

Podcasting/webcasting is easy: record an audio file and put it on the server.

Internet radio, especially with callers, is somewhat more involved.

My friends Ian and Mark at FreeTalk Live might be willing to answer some questions. Their show is internationally syndicated on broadcast radio, as well as being consistently one of the top three podcasts in the country.

For video, take advantage of Youtube. (You'll have to keep it broken down into 10 minute chunks, though.)

For video, youtube seems to be the way to go unless you want to host files on your server. If you're not looking for something live, Camtasia Studio will render video to an Adobe Flash file.

For audio, shoutcast is still a very popular route to take. The downside is that it can take a lot of bandwidth to support a large number of listeners.

It all depends on what your end goal is.
