what happened to my browser?

#1

Post by HighVelocity »

Yesterday, I fired up the pc and something has changed. My browser, IE7, has suddenly stopped accepting all redirects. For example, when I log into this forum, I have to click the "click here if not automatically redirected" link.
I've already gone into IE setup and reset everything to factory default settings, cleared all cookies, history, etc.

I am not interested in switching browsers for those that are going to tell me to use firefox, or whatever.

Thanks

Were there any recent updates from Micro$oft? I know my systems pulled a few last night, but I haven't gone through the list to see what really needs to be installed.

There was a junk email filter update for outlook installed but that's it.

You might give this a look. If that's the problem, I have no idea how it might have gotten turned off. If that doesn't work, I'll look around some more.
Meta refresh elements can be used to instruct a web browser to automatically refresh a web page after a given time interval. It is also possible to specify an alternative URL and use this technique in order to redirect the user to a different location. Using a meta refresh in this way and solely by itself rarely achieves the desired result. For Internet Explorer's security settings, under the miscellaneous category, meta refresh can be turned off by the user, thereby disabling its redirect ability entirely.

Service Pac 3 came out a week or so ago. Perhaps that has something to do with it although I just updated all mine and everything is good.
