Just announced on Fox news -- Harry Reid is retiring.

This is the guy that claimed (lied) that Mitt Romney didn't pay his taxes for 10 years, and continuously railed against the Koch brothers.

Given I'd hoped to see him unseated in his last election, I guess that's good news. Hopefully the GOP can find a worthwhile non Jeff Flake type to run for the seat.

If he hasn't been incarcerated by then, he should be "on the run".

Now he is really going to cash in on all his political dealings.

The Vegas and Reno/Sparks unions are what elected him. After one leaves these two areas in Nevada, houses are pretty far apart. So, who will the unions put in his place?

He has plenty of time to change his mind.
If the winds change in the next 12 months, I wouldn't be surprised.

Hopefully the GOP runs a worthy candidate for the seat this time.

Just saw an article from Heritage implicating Harry Reid in a scandal. I won't post a link as it may violate the rules as it involves the "I" word. Interesting read. If you can't find it, pm me and I'll provide the link. The scandal implicates Rodham also. Maybe this is connected to Harry's decision.

Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) has endorsed Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) to succeed him after he retires at the end of 2016.

"I think Schumer should be able to succeed me," Reid said in a Friday morning interview at his home in Washington's West End.

Boy talk about going from bad to worse. The foulest smelling stuff always floats to the top, and the people of New York aren't smart enough to flush.

Will be glad to see Harry go. Hope a bunch of his buddies follow.

I like the part where he says without the arts endowment that funds cowboy poetry festivals, tens of thousands of people wouldn't exist. I'm not certain if that's on-topic here or not. It's either a subject more properly on the "word use that drives you up the wall" thread, or maybe those cowboy poetry festivals are wild affairs, men and women running nekkid through the woods and all manner of hooliganism.
