Who knew a plain white envelope could bring so much happiness.

Quick question for those who've recently received their plastic. How "plain white" is the envelope? Does it at least say TX DPS on it somewhere? My wife is always the one who checks the mail and I don't want her accidentally tossing it thinking it's another credit card offer.

But I'd rather not give her a heads-up ahead of time 'cause it'd be nice, a couple/few weeks down the road, if it casually comes up and she didn't realize I'd gotten my license some time back and have been carrying ever since and she didn't even notice.

Yes it does. State seal and all. Department of licening and something. My address was a stick on label. Got mine the second day after the status changed.

It's a regular white envelope with the sender as "Regulatory Licensing Service" with your mailing address stickered on.

It's whole envelope is thinner than credit card offers. It's basically the envelope, a cardboard card holder, and the card.

I've no doubt (since I'd be practically chewing my way through every envelope I see until I found it), but since I'll be out of town Sun-Wed, I wanted to make sure my wife wouldn't throw the dang thing away when I wasn't even home to dig through the trash every day to make sure!

Today is day 101 for me. Just out of habit, I checked the DPS site this morning.

I got the "Application Complete".

Now to wait anxiously by the mailbox for the mailman.

First time post here.

My dates:

30-Mar-08 Took class
2-Apr-08 Mailed packet
11-Apr-08 Check cleared bank
12-May-08 Nothing. No response. No PIN. After 40 days I thought I would have at least a PIN by now.

16-Jun-08 Still nothing, not even a PIN. 75 days and nothing.

Emart, I am in the same boat as you.

Took the class end of March with the packet mailed in by the last week of March.
My status shows as "packet mailed to applicant", or something like that.

I called on Friday the 13th of June, and the lady said they are now inputting the middle of March for new applicants. She did say that they had received my packet. So I'm not sure what that means for when it will be complete.

3/12/08 - packet recvd
5/12/08 - called and got 'not in the system yet'
6/16/08 -- still sitting here wondering why I don't even have a pin yet.

I guess I will make another call tomorrow, not that it will do any good..

There was a small flurry of approvals from early march applicants but that seems to have stopped.

Just called DPS yesterday ... everything was done except they have to print the card .... they told me it could take 3 weeks to print a card !!!!!!!
