Mailed 5/29 - Still shows packet mailed to applicant
I mailed off all my goodies to the state on May 29th. I checked the website today and it still shows packet mailed to applicant. Anyone else have the same problem? Looks like they are really backed up there. I called the office today and was told that they have a queue going that just wrapped up processing all of the new apps for March. She said that they are starting on the May apps now and to callback if I havent seen my status change in a month.

Re: Mailed 5/29 - Still shows packet mailed to applicant
DPS reveived my documents on May 29th and my status is still "packet mailed to applicant". I called my state rep and senator to try to make sure my application completion will be closer to 60 days rather than 90. I not feeling too represented at this point. I talked to one of the clerks at the county court-
house and she said DPS faxes info over and they fax the info back. It does not sound like their should be any excuses for long delays. If they are getting in more applicants then that means more revenue. Here is a thought, Use the extra money and get the job done without excuses. Easy and practical solutions should not tke so long to impliment.

My status changed from packet mailed to processing app in about 3 weeks. I dont believe it makes much difference, I think the website status is just in place to try and keep everyone calling. They dont seem to update it much.

Day 39 - Still shows packet mailed to applicant
Something tells me that they arent gonna make the 60 day legislative limit on my app.

Chimp,
I'm guessing that you haven't been reading the other stories on here if you were thinking they were going to make the 60 day deadline. NOBODY (or very few) have gotten theirs in the 60 day limit recently. I hate to burst your bubble, but you should be prepared to wait 90-120 days, just like the rest of us are having to wait. DPS has gotten a flood of new applications that they did not anticipate, nor budget or staff for, and thus they are working as fast as they can to get them entered.
Additionally, I would not recommend checking the status web page on the DPS site. That page has been proven to be inaccurate, as people have gotten their plastic, and their status on that page still shows "Processing application".
