Finally got a reply from DPS

#1

Post by ranger's wife »

I sent an email to DPS on June 15th, 2007 and today I finally got a reply:

Your application was received on 4/23. Applications are taking much longer than we normally expect because of the unusually large amount of applications we received. I do not have any further information at this point, because your application has not been fully entered into the system.

Christopher Pierce
Texas Department of Public Safety[/i]

Took class: 4/12/2008
Electronic Fingerprints taken: 4/15/2008
Mail application: 4/16/2008
DPS received: 4/19/2008 (they say it was 4/23)
Website updated to Processing Application: 5/7/2008
Status unchanged as of 6/24/2008

I read an article a couple of weeks ago that DPS has received a failing grade in all areas of service and it isn't just the CHL Processing department. I really think they need to get their act together. :mad5

Don't feel bad. I received an email from DPS at 79 days.
Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going though the processes required before entry. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN number.
At 95 days, I'm still waiting for my PIN.

I have received this email 2 times from Mr. Pierce, almost verbatim regarding my application. After I received the second message of this type I chalked it up to a canned response.

95 Days and no PIN? Write your reps. You should have done that a long time ago.

We seem to be working on exactly the same schedule. They say," Your application was received on 04/23/2008. At this time we are awaiting the completion of the background investigation. Thank you for your continued patience.- Simone"

Okay..So I now know they have no clue as to whats going on in Austin. I just got off the phone with someone from the DPS(they actually called me) saying that my application would be another 60 days before it even began the background check process. They have to verify i signed all the right places, the prints were correct and my photo is okay. She also spoke incredibly fast,so im pretty sure she was reading from a list of canned responses. SO..From two different people,I got two completely different answers.....I suppose i just hope i receive it before Christmas.

I'm in the same boat. Still no PIN.

Glad I already have my Utah plastic.
