Third Set of Prints Finally "Took"

#1

Post by RugerP345 »

Well that’s the way Rene explained it to me anyway. So after the longest wait of waits, it appears as if my application is finally moving again. Fed's approved my prints! :rock" Apparently if the Fed's look at your prints and think that they can be better, they will reject them and ask for more. So I guess after 3 attempts they finally said "OK he's good to go". Now waiting on the local checks. Compared to how long I've waited already, this wait should be a breeze (as he crosses his fingers and toes)!

I know I'm asking for a miracle but if only my BUG LCP, and H&K IWB holster would arrive around the same time as my plastic, that would be sweet!

Good news. I'm sure you are little relieved. Hopefully it won't be much longer for you.

I understand the FBI has a job to do and wants to have the best product to work with but sometimes the process seems a bit nit-picky (if that’s a word). You see from time to time these high profile cases where the first lead to a non-descript criminal was a partial latent print from a coke can, cigarette pack or a trash bag or whatever and they get the criminal and solve the case

I know they have to cross check databases for matches.

It just seems to me that with the print cards normally provided would be adequate.

Just my opinion.

It's not quite that simple. In order to maintain a reliable database, the FBI has standard criteria for usable prints. A submitted set either matches these criteria or it doesn't. Maintaining the standard is the only way to maintain the quality of the database and get his on partial latents.

That being said, the best way to make sure your prints go through the first time is to have them taken by a very experienced fingerprintprint technician who will examine them as they are recorded and will reject and retake poor impressions himself.
