Taurus PT1911 SS

#1

Post by shh83 »

Hello Everyone,

Today I purchased a Taurus PT 1911 SS. I have to say that it is the smoothest shooting pistol I have ever had the pleasure to fire. I have read nothing but good reviews about the pistol and I can assure anyone that they will be very happy if they decide to go with this fine gun. I am at work now and I can not wait to get home and see it again!

Since we are in the "waiting room" and everybody is waiting on the same thing, I figured this would be a good place to ask this question. This is my first "full size" pistol to ever own, although I have shot many of my dad's throughout the years.

I am considering it for carry. The other option will be my taurus pt111, which I also like very much.

Can anyone comment on the best method for carrying a full size 1911 for everyday comfort, or should I stick with the 111?

I am very sorry if this question has been asked and answered 156 times before my post!!

Thank you in advance to everyone!

My 1911's ride comfortably in either a Don Hume Special Agent or J.I.T OWB holster under an untucked shirt or tee. Other members carry their 1911's in...?

IWB tuckable holster for warmer weather business dress. Blackhawk serpa for cooler weather under a sports coat or suit coat. There are many options for full size 1911 carry. If you google search for concealed handgun holsters you could spend more than a day visiting all the sites. Pick your pistol of choice and find the carry option that appeals to you. My daily carry is one of several 1911's. Best of luck in your search.

I have a crossbreed super tuck for my Springfield 1911 and it took me a day or so to get use to it (im waiting on my license so we are talking around the house, mowing the yard etc). now its no big deal at all, i have a Taurus PT140 and ill carry one or the other depending on attire.

Pick a holster you like, it may take one or two to find one that suits you, I prefer a Fobus paddle for my 1911, but get a good belt, it will make a world of difference no matter what holster you pick.
