Just checked it and it still says "Processing Application," I am starting to think that this is a stall tactic. With as many people that are still waiting (just that I see on here) there is no way the print shop is so busy that it should take 3-4 weeks to get it out.
My renewal I sent in early June took a month to update TO "Processing Application" then was in Processing Application for about another month.

Perhaps it is not just a stall tactic. This morning I checked my status and it now says "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active" Now I just need to wait for the mailman.

After getting an email back from DPS in regards to my CHL that I sent on 11 Aug today I decided to write my State Representative. The email I got details as follows...

8/11/09
"I was just wanting to check on my application. I sent it in back in March/April and it was put on hold because I sent in the wrong DD214. I did fax it back and it seems like it was about a month to month-and-a-half ago. Here is my information if you could update me please.

DL#xxxxxxxx
DOB xxxxxxxx

Thanks,"

8/28/09
"The application is near completion. Thank you for your continued patience. "

They told me 3 days ago that it was being sent to the print shop so I decided to email my Rep.

"Representative XxXxXx,

I am writing to see if there is something that can be done with regards to my CHL. I applied for my CHL back on March 5, 2009, received the application and mailed all information on April 17, 2009. I did have to submit additional information, my DD214 didnt show an Honorable Discharge, and faxed it back to them on or about May 11, 2009. As of now my status online says ''Processing Application.'' I called DPS last Thursday (August 20, 2009) and was told to leave a message with Marion as she was the one handling my application. Having not heard from her in 4 days I called DPS again. This time they said that she approved it and that it was off to be printed, yet my online status hasn't changed. I also emailed DPS August 11, 2009 inquiring on the status, well, they finally got back to me with the response of.... ''The application is near completion. Thank you for your continued patience. Rene M.
Customer Service Representative I
Concealed Handgun Licensing Bureau''

If I count days from the original app date I am at 133 days, if I calculate from the date I faxed my DD214 I am at 109 days with no notification of delay or approval/denial.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could look into this matter.

Thank you,"

We shall see what happens....
