No kidding! It's almost like trying to figure out someone else's poker hand. Background checks, changes in jobs and residences, the luck of the draw in fingerprint and photo acceptance or reject. The combinations are endless.seadog wrote:Does it make anyone wonder why some folks that applied months ago still don’t have their plastic yet, but people from August are getting theirs. Re: August 2009 Applications
I have worked with people like this. What ever combination of requirements you brought to get what you needed. He always came up with one more requirement and wouldn't give you what you needed. Very frustrating. That's what frustrates me with this.joe817 wrote:No kidding! It's almost like trying to figure out someone else's poker hand. So, I guess having seen this process in action first hand....lets just pull off the gloves and "throwdown"

Re: August 2009 Applications
Believe me I feel you pain...You should see my calendar here. I have a day and week count going until November because that's when I was expecting to get mine. I feel totally guilty that you guys are waiting. I'm convinced that the only reason I got mine so fast is because I am only 21 yrs old and there's less time to look for on a BG check. BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!!!!!

Re: August 2009 Applications
Arnoldstrong...don't feel guilty I think it is cool that you are getting this done at your age. I have learned a lot through this process and one thing that I have made up my mind about is that as soon as my 13 year old is ready (at 21 years) she will have hers also. I admire a young person who accomplishes something like this. If you look around the forum I would bet the average age is late forties to fifty years old. Of course we didn't have the choice before 1996.
My father got his CHL the first year it was available. He kept after me year after year to get it. My career has led me to working a lot of shift work and a lot of weekends and I never could get the class done because it was always on weekends. My Father passed away last year so my Father's day present to him this year was to do my CHL class. A little late but he I got it done and I will see it through. It might be frustrating but I will see it through.
Anyway, got off track....don't feel guilty,I've had an interesting life and somethings I will need to explain but you can be proud that you recognize and exercise your rights guaranteed to you by the Constitution ov the United States.

Oh Arnold we KNOW you do, and know how to solve that guilty feeling. Send your license back to DPS HQ and tell 'em to hold it for another 3 weeks, until your forum buddies have a chance to get theirs !arnoldstrong wrote:Believe me I feel you pain...You should see my calendar here. Re: August 2009 Applications
My better half sent her papers in about a week after I sent mine. I put it in the mail certified return receipt, but never received a receipt. We checked and DPS cashed the check 9/2/09. The government run post office can’t get this simple job done right and they want to run health care?????
I hope this comment isn’t stepping beyond the rules of the forum.
