The wait is over!!!

The wait is over!!!
Just checked the website today and saw these wonderful words, "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". DPS received the app on Feb 1 and a month later, process is complete. I am very impressed with the quick turn around. I was thinking it was going to take longer since i had a couple of addresses in Austin while i was attending UT. Woohoo!

A little tip on the holster..Don't go the cheap route. It will cost you more in the long run. I speak from experience.

Also, don't skimp on the belt. I didn't believe in the "get a good belt" advice until I went through four belts in my first year carrying. Buying a good belt will save you money in the long run.

They seem to be pretty consistent lately. I submitted my application on Feb 3, received the letter saying the application was incomplete or unsigned (?????), sent it back and the notification of license issued was posted today, March 10. I was anticipating a much longer wait.
Re: The wait is over!!!
I got my holster the day after I sent my application in. I've been wearing it empty ever since. I just wanted to try a few to decide what I wanted to wear beforehand. And what has really helped is for me to start adjusting some habits. I have a habit of pulling up my shirts and hiking my pants up every now and then. Turns out that isn't going to work. I've got to grab my pants through my shirt now to keep from pulling the shirt up.cubbyjg wrote:Got my plastic in today, WOOHOO!! Now the second hart part; deciding which holster to buy from my CCW.
I also have had to learn to put my phone on the weak side. More important that I can get the gun out quickly and accurately than the work leash.
And I had a chance to borrow a Crossbreed, MTAC, and Tucker and try them all out and decide what I'm going to wear every day. There is nothing like the Tucker in comparison...but for the price, I've gone with the MTAC. Between the 3, its like adding another layer of leather each time. Crossbreed is nice but has exposed hardware. MTAC then layers another bit of leather over the hardware. Tucker then layers another layer sueded side toward you over that. But its twice the price.
So for those folks waiting, why not take the time to see what works to wear every day.
