How Long For Renewal Based on this Info?

#1

Post by xdtom40 »

Mailed everything to them on July 19th, they probably got it on July 20th (I only live 28 miles from Headquarters). It has been in this status over a week. I have a squeeky clean background, not even a traffic ticket, and have worked in LE and CJ for over 17 years. Any ideas from those who have gone through renewal lately how long I may still be waiting? (I let is lapse about 8 months and don't have a valid CHL right now, so I'm trying to be patient. ;-) Thanks!

Thanks TXLobo. That's about my luck! I worked at HQ for 2.5 yrs and there is a lot to be desired down there. Those employees work with low pay and high stress. Hope we both get ours soon! Thank you!

I just thought of something. I wonder how many legislators have had "special treatment" getting their applications/approvals through DPS with express service, therefore we will be pushed back. I worked there for 2.5 yrs and experienced "special treatment" for legislators. Since there has been an influx of them getting their CHL to go thru the fast lane at the Capitol. Hmmmmm......

My CHL had lapsed for about 3 months before I could get my stuff sent in. My status was like yours and the Background Under Review part was like that for over 3 weeks. I was told 30-45 days on renewals and I got mine about 40 days. Its coming!!!! I know you hate to wait. I did too.

DPS received my renewal packet on the 30th of June, 2010 and I had renewed online so all I had to send was the checklist and TRL-100.

Plastic was in my hand 21 days later.

my renewal comes up in May 2011, so I guess I'll take the class in January (maybe the week b4 Superbowl)...
I hope 4 months would be enough on my 3rd or 4th renewal?

However, I guess they go through the entire process anyway, no shortcuts.
