There is no way it takes 8 to 10+ days for the "mailed" mail to be delivered 200 miles away.
I wonder if telling the truth means anything to them at all.

I sent my packet on 1/3 and I think it took 8 days for it to register in the system. Don't know if they got really busy all of a sudden with everything that happened in Arizona, but 3 weeks is way longer than it was taking a couple of weeks ago.birddog67 wrote:I sent in my packet on recieved on 1/31 as of 2/11 i am still not in the system , the have allready cashed the check , they are telling me up to 3 weeks to get in the system , is this normal ?

Welcome to "the wait."XinTX wrote:Online application - 12/18/10

It takes about 60 days for Utah and almost 90 days for Oklahoma to get CCW after one mails in his application.rmr1923 wrote:kcsen wrote:I'm very impressed! The government is very efficient and productive!

So the DPS is still perking along quite fast in processing new licenses and I can look forward to seeing a picture of my ugly mug in the mail pretty soon.

I just found this nice forum and signed up. It looks like there is a treasure trove's worth of information to read here. What follows is the time line for my CHL application submission so far:
Online application submitted to DPS (My instructor had us do this ahead of time): Jan. 17
Class completed: Jan. 22
All forms to DPS in Austin (It was part of the class fee for the instructor to drop them off): Jan. 24
As of Jan. 31, the only non-green item is Background check: Under review
It is all is going quite swiftly for a government licensing operation.
Cheers from Dripping Springs,
