Mind if I sit and wait with y'all?

Mailed my stuff off this morning. Checked my mailbox this afternoon - drats no plastic yet:)
Took my class in Schertz on Wednesday at Lonestar Handgun. Nice folks and made sure we had
all of our paperwork ready before we left for the day. They even do the L-1 fingerprinting on
premises. Just had to schedule 48 hours prior to class on the L-1 website.

So, like Mr. Coffee lets see how they do over the 4th of July.

Ok- finally got up the nerve to check. Post office delivered on the morning of
5 July. Webpage shows online application received and waiting on paperwork
to arrive. So, my stuff is in the building and waiting sorting.

On another note, my Hazmat endorsement for my CDL came back today. It
took DPS and the transportation commission in Virginia from the 29th of
June until today to let me know I am approved again. Same fingerprint place
at L-1 Enrollment. Should receive that plastic by the end of the week. Now
that has no paperwork going in. Only the L-1 and the background check by the
FBI. So, the fingerprint checks are going quickly. I bet the CHL license takes
longer because of the regional checks. I live in one county, work in another
county, and moved from a third county less than 5 years ago. Bet they have to
run a check in all three.

Pace, pace, pace, pace, check website, pace, pace, pace

Next phase has passed. All my paperwork has been received.
My background check is now under review. Not bad considering
it hit their door on the 5th of July.

Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones. Recently if your stuff lands on the right desk, you can get your plastic in three weeks or less!!

Seems to be no rhyme or reason to this process that I can discern. You submitted a day after me, and here I am at manufacturing. That seemed like an eternity, now waiting for the “mailed” status is killing me, lol. But at any rate looks like it will be well under 60 days so I have no complaints.

The lady at DPS told me that it just depends on who's desk your stuff lands on and how fast they work. Maybe mine will happen soon.

Well try this on for size:

Mailed on 2 July
Recieved on 5 July
All but background and maufacturing complete on 13 July
Background done and manufacturing pending on 14 July

That is 12 calendar days including the holidays and weekends. Not complaining
but who gave the person doing my application the expresso. Wonder if it was my
2 prior FBI checks this year for other licenses and my government civilian status?
If all go well, maybe plastic next week?

Well if it's espresso that did the trick, maybe future applicants should send in a Starbucks gift card with their paperwork???

Manufacturing pending as of this morning!!! Yay!!

Ok- I went from manufacturing pending to manufacturing this moening.
I gouess someone is sitting there using a hammer and chisel to carve my stone tablet.

See Lady- I told you expresso did the trick. The race is on. I live in San Antonio
south of Austin. Who will get their's first? Inquiring minds will want to know.

I live in the panhandle, probably you...we shall see, hopefully hubby's will go manufacturing pending today too. If I get mine before him, I will probably hide it until his comes in.
