The long wait -Is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I'm still waiting past the sixty day mark now. Right at 69 days. Spoke with them Monday and they said there waiting on the Background investigations. Can anyone fill me in on what this means and how long it usually takes?
The good thing about it is my B-Day just past so I think my license will be good for 5 years right?

I called again yesterday and this time they say the investigation was complete and that a Tech was looking over the application. Wonder how long this will be? I supplied all the certified copies of the disposition of my case and everything is with in the legal requirments of CHL. So I can not imagine it taking too long.

This is almost getting humorous.... Not really..... Again I spoke to a person and got the " Your application is currently processing and right now your Background check is being done".... Welll, I was told the day before that the Background check was complete and that a Tech was going over my application. I did not want to be rude so I did not mention this yesterday. I can not help but feel like I'm just getting the run around cause each time I call I get a diffrent response. I'm just over 70 days now.
I know be patient, but it's starting to wear on me now.
Cheers,

Well, since my last posting, I have heard it all from your app was recived on X day and it processing to it's finished processing and should be 2-3 weeks when you get it. Sad part of it all is I get each of these answers everytime I call like a merry-go-round. I could call once in the morning and again in the afternoon and get two diffrent responses.
Yesterday I finally got a response via an email I sent back on the 10th. It said my app was recieved on Oct 18th and that it was processing. So I called yesterday and a person without me metioning it said my app was recieved on Nov 8th. In reality it was recieved on the 3rd as I have confirmation. What the heck! even the day they get my app is diffrent.
So latest spill is a Tech is once again going over my app due to declared info on my part. I have heard this one three times now in the past 4 weeks. I tired to have them transfer me to this "Tech" and they seem to skirt the request. Anyway just a update on my progress.. 81 days and counting.....Ho..Hummmmm......

you said you had a court case with dispositions and what-not.
that adds time.
the holidays. that adds a lot of time.
relax.
they don't just sit on these cause they don't have anything else to do, there's a crap-ton of people getting these, not to mention I'm sure they're obligated to other duties as well.
and I don't rather think calling daily will do much of anything except take someone away from working on your application packet, to answer the phone.
it takes a while. everyone on here has said that it took 60 days, even when it wasn't around the holidays.
as everyone else says in their intro posts and what-have-ya, practice carrying at home, and go to the range. use this time wisely.

"Good, Bad, I'm the guy with the gun..."
Mine took 55 days from the time I dropped off my packet at the DPS Oct. 26, until the license arrived December 20th.
But yes, once in a while somebody's paperwork would fall through the cracks and require extended effort to expedite.
The main problems they encountered while serving the public were people not meeting deadlines or incomplete paperwork, especially after their licenses had lapsed.
She dealt with med aides, X-Ray techs, all the way up to doctors. You wouldn't believe how dumb, incompetent, and beligerant some of those applicants were. On the other hand, there were a couple of clerks working for my wife over the years who were incredibly, slow, dumb, or rude. It was next to impossible to get rid of them.
That is so true. My wife ran several different licensing programs for the Texas Dept. of Health for many years. She and her staff would spend almost half their working hours dealing with unnecessary phone calls from clients, and the other half attending mostly useless bureaucratic meetings. It's a wonder they got any paper shufflin' done.I'm sure they're obligated to other duties as well.

Well, I checked online this morning and the site shows
Application Completed - license issued or certificate active
Whoooooooo........
Thanks for listening to my moaning and groaning. I will have to still say though that there is still alot to be desired when it comes to speaking to the CHL Department. My one and only complaint is there inconsistant and round about ways with handling Customer status requests. Outside of this my applicaiton process was fine and completed in a timeframe I was pretty much expecting and willing to deal with in the first place prior to even signing up. With the help of the Board and all its posters I feel well informed and hope to contribute in the future.
Cheers,

Congrats. Plan your Wally World walk among the sheeple, then go to where ever you want.
Glad to have another good guy on the street.
