Re: Twice as much Money - Husband and Wife
Are you tracking all out of pocket expenses? Would be interesting for someone to actually calculate all expenses incurred during the process. Everything from state fees and state required items to purchase of carry firearm, practice and carry ammo, range fees during practice prior to class, fuel consumed going to range...
Wish I had done it. If nothing else to be able to say at the end, "ability to protect yourself and your family? Priceless!"

Congrats on both of you getting your CHLs. Texas will completely come out of years of drought before I'm able to convince my wife to participate.

Wait until it becomes a hobby. The cost of ammo alone for 2 people is enough to need a third job! :)
But I wouldn't trade it for a thing.

Updated....
She and I took our CHL Course this passed Saturday.
I fired my Sig P238... she used a "Rent" XD9 Compact.
We learned more about why we love living in Texas.

I think it's awesome y'all are getting your CHL's as a team. It may be twice as much money but the payoff of having a dedicated and lifelong partner will pay twice the dividends.

super8neon - I'm right there with ya! My husband and I are doing our CHL's together, but we're also taking the baby girl (teenager) out to shoot with us on a fairly regular basis now. It's expensive, but priceless!

My wife also joined me in the quest. She qualified with my Beretta and I think she may take it from me.

Our son turns 4 in July... so we've got just a short while before we introduce him to the range.discoqueen wrote:super8neon - I'm right there with ya!
