I just sold my house that's been on the market for 4 days, and we have to be out by May 15... Austin has my application and if the timing takes 60+ days then I won't be at that address any longer when the plastic arrives. To make matters worse, my family and I will be in a temporary place until the home that we are building is finished in August. Could things go more wrong?
I'm pumped that our current house has sold, but can matters pertaining to the CHL get any more complex? Any advise that you have is greatly appreciated.
My plan, of course, is to forward my mail to our temp residence, but technically speaking, I will only be in that temp house for a few months before moving again. What to do?
Thanks!
OH NO, I'm moving while waiting

I'd get on the phone to DPS and ask them soon; remember, you have to report an address change to them within 30 days, so if you'll be at the temporary residence more than a month, you'll need to make the change to your license. If they'll let you change it before they issue the plastic, they might also let you slide on that first $25 fee.ntex wrote:My plan, of course, is to forward my mail to our temp residence, but technically speaking, I will only be in that temp house for a few months before moving again. Don't forget to update your DL too.

Thank you for the input. The good news is that it has only taken 8 days for me to transition into Processing Application since Austin received my paperwork. Maybe I will get the plastic before I move, and then worry about letting them know that I'm in a temp home for a few months. Can I claim a Marriott Hotel or PO Box as a home?

I bought a house while I was in the Waiting Room. I called Austin, TX and they said they might be able to update it before it gets processed. After being on hold for a few mins, the lady then told me she had good news and bad news. Good news is my license was almost ready to be mailed out. Bad news is I would have to file a change.
My point is, call them and tell them the situation. They will be the best people to give you advice on this.
