Update to my timeline.

10/8: Online App.
10/10: CHL class.
10/11: Mailed paperwork.
10/16: Fingerprints processed.
11/27: BG completed. Manufacture pending.
11/28: Manufacturing.
11/30: Mailed (Website says mailed).
12/7: Envelope postmarked.
12/9: Plastic in hand.

Although I am no longer waiting, this board has been hugely informative and I read it daily. Thanks to everyone for the great reading.

A little about my experience -

I don't even own a gun. In fact, the first time I shot a gun was in chl class! This licensing was more of a response to the economy and the election AND of course I wanted to exercise my 2nd; so I made it a point to add the license to my "prepping" list.

Come early next year when the budget permits, I hope to go gun shopping. I have my eye on that Glock 27 Gen 4, but we'll see. And yes I will definitely take some basic handgun classes as well. Hope everything goes well. Thanks to the board again... ... ... ... later.

Well the CHL will make your first firearm purchase a cake walk so that's a huge plus. The G27 is a great firearm and you can't go wrong with a Glock for a beginner shooter. Good luck to you and congrats on getting your plastic. :txflag:
