Texas received my paperwork 10/11/12.
Status changed to manufacturing 1/14/13
Status changed to mailed 1/16/13
Permit arrived 1/29/13
110 days or 15 weeks and 5 days. If the average turnaround time is six weeks, mine was 9 weeks and 5 days late. I think they told me six weeks, not sure.
Got it!

Re: Got it!
I think I remember my CHL instructor saying that they have to get it to you within 60 days, but with the increase on CHL requests, I'm sure getting the license is like finding ammo; just be glad you get it at all!
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

Re: Got it!
I can finally join the crowd of those that have it. Plastic arrived today!
mailbox to mailbox = 10/11/12 - 02/1/13 = 113 days!
I have to add though that I received a letter mid November asking for some additional information. I sent paperwork, it was delivered to DPS on the 12/20/12. January 9th I received the same letter, asking for the same additional paperwork (Grrrr). Placed a call to inquire, and was referred to a case worker. She informed me that what I sent in was not what they were looking for. Had to clear that up. She was nice enough to give me her direct number and email and let me scan and email the correct documents once I got them to speed things along. She phoned me the same day I emailed her and changed my online status that day. After that, plastic in hand 5 days later.
