Yep, because we now have replacement ones. If there is anything good, the chips in the lost ones are not valid and if someone uses them, they will be arested.seamusTX wrote:Bummer.Mark G26 wrote:That is exactly what happened to our passports! Nobody ever sent them back to the USPS
U.S. passports are valuable in criminal circles. I lost mine (through my own carelessness) and it haunted me for several years. Every time I entered the country, I got special attention.

My episode was in the 1980s, before passports contained chips.Mark G26 wrote:Yep, because we now have replacement ones. If there is anything good, the chips in the lost ones are not valid and if someone uses them, they will be arested.

So, the USPS mail man does make mistakes on important documents. They did it to us twice.seamusTX wrote:My episode was in the 1980s, before passports contained chips.Mark G26 wrote:Yep, because we now have replacement ones. Yes, and DPS also makes mistakes. There was one reported case of two licenses being put in one envelope, so that one person's license went to another person. They have also entered addresses incorrectly.Mark G26 wrote:So, the USPS mail man does make mistakes on important documents. They did it to us twice.
