Congrats ninemm! Phew. That sure was a long wait! Glad you got it. And what a place to Wallywalk! Be careful there. There's some strange people lurking there, according to the news last night.

CHL received yesterday!

My 120 days of processing appear to be shorter than the average for Harris County. That could be due to the calls to my state senator & representative's offices.... :tiphat:

Day-133 I called two state rep.'s and got answering machines.
Day-134 I heard back from one rep. and e-mailed my information to them. We will see if they come through. The lady seemed to care, unlike the DPS lady. I still have not heard from the other state rep. :headscratch (Looks like they will lose my vote)
Day-135 still proccesing application, and hoping that they don't decide to kick something back like finger prints or photo. :rules: (you told on us so we will find a reason to make you wait longer) :rules:

I hope it gets done soon

I took the class on March 28th, mailed on March 30th. Didn't hear anyth :banghead: :mad5 :confused5 ing until I received a letter on May 22nd that was written on May 18. In this letter was my PIN. Been processing application ever since.

E-mailed them 3 weeks ago. Their response was that they "were currently awaiting the background check".

Sent my application in on March 24th. Took 17 weeks to get the license. The average is 19 weeks so I guess I am two weeks to the good.
The online applicaton check is accurate. I received my license two days after seeing the "licensed issued".

I am now on day 130(ish) waiting on my CHL, but that's not what my concern is right now, I left town for a funeral. Came home, my bathroom window busted out, front door unlocked, gun safe and 5 firearms gone!!!!! One 12 guage, one AR-15(.223), one 243, one .38 special, and one .40cal. I had all the serial numbers in my wallet, so I was able to give those to the police. I believe someone has been watching me, knew I had guns, and knew I was leaving town. I know it was more than one person, because my safe was very heavy. Although, I am sure I will never see those guns again. If I do, I don't know if I would want a gun back that was used in a robbery or a murder. Chances are, my AR-15 is probably headed to Mexico. Now I don't feel safe in my own home, which I first thought was a good neighborhood. I am mad about my guns being stolen, but what bothers me the most, is that I am a husband and father, and some strangers forced their way into my home. Now, I just want justice to be served. Any information, please contact Texas City PD. Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your break-in dwdog. Home burglaries leave you feeling violated and vulnerable. Luckily you weren't home at the time. My method to cope with this has been to figure out the vulnerabilities in the home that they exploited and use that knowledge to harden the property to prevent future entry and strengthen the alarming and monitoring. Also, it can help heighten the awareness of your family so they learn to watch for little signs that could put them in danger. All of these help the healing process for the family.

Hope they are able to track down your guns and find the lowlifes that did this.

Almost there!! Two weeks after being told they were waiting on my license to be printed I called them since the site still said processing. The woman told me that they hadn't actually sent it until 8+ days after that update to the printer !! Needless to say I was a bit...ummm....unhappy. After clarifying I then contacting my congressman on Thursday (Day 135). Couldn't believe it when I logged on today and just for the heck of it checked my status. Day 138 and it says...Application complete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Now I just get to wait for the card. Of course it could take 8 days just to put it in the mail but atleast Im closer.

Day 131, I called and was told still waiting on Galveston County background check. They told me the same over one month ago. Then he rather rudely told me that there were "thousands" that had been waiting longer than me. :banghead:

After calling my State Reps office I recieved a call from DPS telling me they were waiting for a letter of some sort for Ft. Bend county. Having lived in Ft. Bend and Harris I was shocked to learn that Harris was done already. The guy from DPS said it should be there some time that week and then they would issue the license. That was 2.5 weeks ago.

Had a talk with a guy the other day, who claimed to be a CHL instructor. He said he has heard thru what he does, that the wait period will soon increase up to about one full year, because DPS is so swamped.
