Re: "Waiting Room"
Status update all green
Print pending 11/30, any day now...
This process is going by much quicker than I was expecting, my background check was on under review for only a day unless they just didn't update their sites earlier.
17 Days so far
11/12- LTC class
11/13- application submitted online
11/14- fingerprints taken
11/14- submitted CHL-100
11/14- email stating supporting docs received
11/14--11/28- no website update
11/29- background check under review
11/30- background check completed/print pending

Re: "Waiting Room"
That's a pretty fast turnaround. Mine seems to be taking forever and I'm not quite sure why. I haven't even seen any updates whatsoever on the website. It doesn't show me anything and I submitted my CHL-100 on 11/7, my Application and fee on 11/10, and fingerprints on 11/11.dannyphantom wrote:dannyphantom wrote:Howdy guys, new guy here.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Letting nature take it's course was the right call. Woke up this morning bound and determined to call today if no updated status was available when...KurtFTW wrote:Hello, I'm new to the forum. I saw a thread made by someone experiencing the same trouble I am.
Submitted Application: 11/10/16
Submitted Fingerprints: 11/11/16
Submitted CHL-100 prior to this because I had an old application on file and was told via email that they were just waiting on my fingerprints and CHL-100. Only to be told later the application was too old(nearly 3 years...don't judge ) and that I would need to resubmit an application and fingerprints.
At first the website showed a status of Application Submitted.
Since then it has not updated at all and shows no status whatsoever.
Emailing only gets a cookie cutter reply.
Should I call and inquire or do you think I just need to cool my jets and let nature take it's course?
Now I'm just waiting on that background check then we'll be all green!

Re: "Waiting Room"
Same thing happened to me and apparently many if not everyone. They do not update that page in a timely manner. It took 22 days before I saw any update (which is stuck on Background check: In review) so don't stress too much. It may take 30-40 days before you get plastic in hand. Some have said it's closer to 50 barring any other supplemental documentation they might request or other issues that might arise.BarrakObama wrote:Hey everyone! Been a long time lurker of this site and never posted or had an account.
BTW... thanks for all of you posts on here guys... the DPS is out to make everything as confusing as possible, glad we can collectively make sense of it all here....
I submitted my application with the RSD (DPS?) idk... About 7 days ago, and when I go to check the status of it, I don't have anything at all show up.
I received a conformation email with the barcarole and everything from DPS almost immediately after I did the online application. My fingerprints have been sent in already... Main question... When did you guys start seeing things on the status page?!?
I am dying here.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Well here it is Dec 6th. with no change to my background check status. Also I'm out of town which makes me wonder if I'll get home to find a letter from RSD asking for more information from me. I'll keep watching this week.KurtFTW wrote:Letting nature take it's course was the right call. All of us, like those who have gone before us, are or have been, at the mercy of the overpaid state employees who know that they would be harassed and heckled if they tried to process more than 1 CHL license per day. Instead go out for a smoke. Your tax dollars at work ridiculous that this room is so popular.

Re: "Waiting Room"
I work in an industry that requires an FBI background check before you can be employed. So I seriously don't know what the hold up is. There isn't a "background" to check. Oh well...the wait continues.fr0van wrote:All of us, like those who have gone before us, are or have been, at the mercy of the overpaid state employees who know that they would be harassed and heckled if they tried to process more than 1 CHL license per day. Re: "Waiting Room"
From your previous posts, my understanding is that your completed application hit DPS less than three weeks ago. Is that not correct? Please note that your fingerprints--or lack of satisfactory samples thereof--are not performed by "overpaid state employees." That's a private corporation.fr0van wrote:All of us, like those who have gone before us, are or have been, at the mercy of the overpaid state employees who know that they would be harassed and heckled if they tried to process more than 1 CHL license per day. A good idea would be to understand the process before you assail the very people at DPS who have been doing a stellar job at processing LTC applications. We're to the point that people whine if they don't have plastic in hand within three weeks. Take a look at the annual license issuance rates. They're cranking them out faster now than ever before in the 21-year history of the program.
And give a look at our Forum rules: http://www.texaschlforum.com/app.php/page/rules. Even abbreviated profanity isn't allowed; your post has been edited. Don't do it again.

Re: "Waiting Room"
My plastic took 16 weeks in 09. Delay was due to FBI back ground checks being back logged with TSA checks. I just ordered a good CC holster, got use to wearing and drawing from it and as my Sis says, I chilaxed,. My renewal on the other hand took all of 2 weeks. So it ain't necessarily the State.

I've got the advantage of being a couple of miles from the DPS HQ, so mail transit time is theoretically less.
I'm still at "Processing Application".
I'm 26 days in and still at "Background check: Under review"
Maybe we'll have plastic in hand by Christmas???
