DL Address change effect CHL Application?

#1

Post by Apollo »

So I moved recently and my new driver's license didn't arrive in time for the CHL class (bad idea on my part to go ahead and take the course without the new one, i know). Does it matter? If all the paperwork is squared away and the new DL is coming in the mail are they going to stop the application and make me resend? I put down my current address for the CHL but i'm worried about red flags being raised since the info won't match up.

Call DPS. Maybe they can change the address on your CHL before it's issued, and save you $25.

You already changed the address on your DL, but just haven't received the new one, right? If that's the case, then DPS already has your new address on file. Just because you haven't received it in the mail doesn't mean it hasn't already been entered into the system.

Send in your CHL application with your correct and current address. It will be fine.
