I sent a completed packet to DPS, last tuesday. and it still says "Packet Mailed to Applicant."

When does it normally change status to Application received, or such?

In about 3 weeks, they are slow to post changes.

Mine took 4 weeks to show up in the system. As long as you have a tracking receipt showing that it arrived, I wouldn't worry.

I'm applying for a non-resident CHL, so I wanted to make sure my application was complete (particularly if there's something that isn't on the application checklist.) I included a self-addressed, stamped postcard with my packet and it arrived yesterday:

I'm sure I included all three affidavits in the envelope, so I called DPS yesterday afternoon. I thought perhaps there's a new affidavit for non-residents or something similar. No such luck. According to the technician, my application wasn't in the computer yet and she said that can take two to four weeks. Huh? That postcard was mailed Tuesday, and the $140 check to DPS cleared my account Thursday, but my application doesn't show up in the computer? That doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I thanked the tech for her help and I guess I'll wait to see if DPS sends me an official letter about an incomplete application and, if so, how long that takes. I get the impression they're understaffed and don't have the best computers either.
No mine has not changed. I am going to call DPS this afternoon. It has only been 2 weeks, but I need to know they got it.

That "Affidavits" written there looks like it was done by a 7 year old!

The number on their website: 1-800-224-5744 is always BUSY. Anyone have a better number?

Did they cash your check yet? It has been just over two weeks for me and they haven't cashed it yet. Should I be worried? I'm in the same boat just want to make sure they recieved the thing.
