It may be lost 73 days and counting

As of today 1-4-08 I'm at 73 Days and counting
WEll here's my unlucky timeline.
Mailed 2 applications for me and the wife---10-23-07
PIN letters received around 11-19-07 (Hers came about 3 days before mine)
Wife's hard card received 12-11-07 (I was out of town but returned 12-12-07)
Checked my status 12-12-07 shows license issued/active
Called DPS on 12-21-07 asking how long I should wait before reporting it lost (Lady says 30 days)
Checked today 1-4-08 now shows no license applied for or active (I called today and spoke with a guy there who was very helpful. He wasn't sure why it showed that but said my license was issued on 12-12-07. He gave me the option of waiting a couple of more days or reporting it lost or stolen, and I should get it within...30 more days. I opted to wait for 2 more days mail, today and tomorrow, and if not I'd call him back on Monday. He was kind enough to give me his direct number.)
