Got a Funny call from my state rep today

I'm over the 60 day period and decided to contact my state rep,if for no other reason to see if they would even return my email. I received a call from his office today saying that the DPS will be contacting me very soon and expediting my application. He went on the say that if they fail to call or can't expedite my application to call him back ASAP. I'm sure in the backward world the DPS operates that means i just got shifted to the back of the line, but we shall see. I will simply be in shock if they even contact. I think I will give them another week to contact me before I call my rep back and let him know.

Actually, some people have reported very good results from contacting their state representative or senator, including having the licensed issued within days.
This is what elected representatives do to get elected. Bureaucratics pay attention to them.

Well if he can get my application moved through quicker, I may actually vote for him... Even though it would be crossing party lines..

Mr. Van Arsdales Rep. (Karen) is mad that I dont have any status on my application, he's on the comittee that Governs the DPS. When I spoke to her (Karen) she said she would do what she could and that this was not acceptable for the DPS to us. I guess we'll see.........
Hopefull they (DPS) will get their YOU KNOW WHAT together
and get out some applications!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I just contacted my state rep today, also. I have read where some have gotten some good results...so, I guess I will see, too. My rep is Susan King (R-71). I thought about sending an email to Senator Troy Fraser (R-24), but I guess I'll wait a little while and see what happens first.

Maybe some of us should complain to our State reps about getting pushed to the back of the line by the other State reps demanding special treatment for the ones who can't wait like the rest of us.

Ouch...Some seem a little testy about us bringing in our state reps on the issue. By my understanding, that guy in the office works for me, and if I'm having a issue with the government thats his job, to represent me. I don't see it as cutting in line, I see it as using my available resources. If everyone just sit back and let the state take as long as it wanted, things would never get done. So, I'm sorry some see it as "crying". Its just bringing issues to light. So call your rep if you want. No one is stopping you but your own fear of being a "cry baby" apparently.

If you are later than the law allows then you SHOULD complain; everyone should.
DPS excuses that they don't have enough manpower don't cut is since they either NEED more people and the Reps can help with that, or they have enough and need to prioritize these.
Either way, the law sets a limit and that needs to be respected just like you respect the CHL regulations when you carry.
It is in NO WAY "cutting in line" to ask you Rep to see to the problem.

Use your reps and senators if you can.
But every one that is successful is at the expense of those who choose to (impatiently) wait.
And, yes, it is cutting in line.

[sarcasm]I was not aware of a line, at least in the traditional sense...
