Guess I'll start the August waiting list.
Sent packet off to DPS today.
Paid online so already have pin and dreaded "packed mailed to applicant" is all it says

Pulling up the proverbial chair.

I'm in exactly the same situation. I mailed the packets off for both me and my wife yesterday (August 1st). I also did the online application and my status is "Packet mailed to applicant". I'm settling in for the long haul, but I'm going to try to not check my status until day 60 and then maybe check it every couple weeks. We'll see if I can follow through with that.

Now, I also sent off my Utah packet on July 25th and I expect that will arrive sooner. That will take the pressure off of DPS if I have plastic in hand from Utah early.

I guess I will join you guys in the August waiting room.

I took the CHL course 08/01/2008 at one of the local communtiy colleges.

Mailed the packet 08/04/2008.

sent my packet on the second. seems like forever already. I sent it certified so how long should it be before i get conformation that it was recieved? :

Well I guess I will join ya'll also. I sent my app. in March and still have no plastic.

well i recieved the certified letter reciept and my packet was signed for on aug.4.

I'll join y'all too in the waiting room. I took my turnkey class on August 9th and I sent my packet to DPS on 8/11. I applied online so here's to hoping that things are speeding up down at the DPS.

Hey Jet4, where did you take your CHL Class? I took mine Saturday at Patriot Firearms. We had 15 people in our group.

The waiting begins. Just mailed my completed packet today. In the spirit of the Olympics, I'm shooting for a world record turnaround. We'll see how long it takes!

Mailed the packet about 1800 hrs on 11-08/08

It'll get to me when it gets to me. Until then I'll enjoy the beer I can now purchase since being 21 magically makes me more responsible than I was when I'd been 18 or 20.

Got mine done today, I turned mine into the DPS office here in Austin. So Day 1 begins.

Mailed mine off today. Time to begin the waiting . This is going to be torture because I am not the most patient person, but it is definitely worth the wait!

Mailed my packed off this morning. I was about to order a holster, but I might be jumping the gun so to speak!
