I took my class way back in August and submitted all my paperwork online on November 15th. The next week my paperwork was signed and submitted. Around the first of December my online status changed to "Incomplete Information - A Detailed letter has been sent." I had forgotten to fill out all the info on my fingerprint cards, even though those sections were highlighted. So I signed them and back to Austin they went. About a week later it went back to "Processing Application". Much to my surprise today it has changed to "Application Approved". So it took about 3 weeks from the time all paperwork was submitted until it was approved. Caveats, I have a completely clean record, but most of it was out of state.

I honestly expected it to take a month more. Now I am not sure what to carry and I don't have a holster!

I wonder if my Delta Elite is too much to mexican carry on my wally walk?

Congrats on the CHL, but make sure you get a holster for the tool you carry!

congrats, I did the same thing leaving info off the FP cards. However it took over 60 days for them to tell me this and then nearly another 60 days to complete and approve my application. Things are looking up since August and DPS hiring more.

Get a good gun belt and holster, you won't regret it.

Plastic showed up today. Overall pretty fast, the state must be caught up.

I'm sincerely glad for you. Getting a CHL used to be routine, and it is getting back to that standard.

A lot of people are still stuck in the backlog, but DPS seems to be flushing out the pipes quickly.

It's not fair, but life isn't fair.
