I heard from DPS today

I got an envelope from DPS today. It had my fingerprint card in it...one of them. I guess I forgot to indicate that I was a US citizen in a tiny little box somewhere.
I fixed it and mailed it back already.
At least I know now they are working on it. Still never got a pin. I guess they have to have all my docs in and correct before I can get a PIN.

I don't think they will issue you a PIN - they don't use them anymore.

If they don't use the PIN numbers any more then hopefully they will have my stuff done sooner than later. I mailed the thing back to them within an hour of it arriving at my mail box. I mailed it in at the post office on the way back to work.

I did not need a PIN . Social. birthdate and DL# is all the website requires.

Just go to
http://www.house.gov/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, click on Concealed Handgun License, login using your drivers license number, social security number and birthdate, and you can see what condition your case is in.
Here's what mine says:
License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.
I got confirmation of receipt on 6/7/10, so it apparently takes a while after they get your documents before they begin processing them.
