Excited!

Just took my CHL class yesterday, today I submitted my application, tomorrow I'm getting my passport photos, and Saturday evening I'm getting my fingerprints done. Then it's all off to Austin to play the waiting game.

Congrats! Hopefully your wait is shorter than the 60 days I had to endure.

People are presently posting around 35 calendar days after submitting. Good luck on the wait, it will pass!

My friend who took the class at the same time I did, and mailed his materials off just two days after I did, checked his status last night and it had finally just gone to "manufacturing". So, if manufacturing and mailing takes the same number of days as mine did, he'll probably be looking at 38-39 days total wait.

So I've got my training cert and passport photos in hand. Saturday evening I'm getting my fingerprints done at L-1. What method should I use to send these to DPS to be sure they arrive? USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Carrier Pigeon.... And should I request delivery confirmation and/or certified mail as well? I want as close to a 0% chance of things getting "lost in the mail" as I can possibly get and I REALLY appreciate y'all's advice.

I'm at 36 days waiting so far. I think the Memorial Day holiday might add a few days. :waiting:
Even the DPS gets a day off once in a while....... :txflag:

Certified mail with delivery confirmation. The only way to fly! ;-)

I had 26 days mailbox-to-mailbox for what it's worth. As long as there are no hiccups (missing forms, background check issues, etc.), things will flow pretty smoothly.

I hope mine goes that fast. My "time to beat" is apparently 47 days. That's how long it took my Pop to receive his. Just a little friendly father/son competition. :thumbs2:
